Puppies!!

We got all 5 pups baths from our dirty excursion. A couple did fine, and a couple didn't do so great! LOL

We've been working on them going up and down the stairs. Going up is going pretty good, all except Avalanche (the guy we're keeping) can make it up. They all pretty much roll down the stairs, ( a couple did the first day), and now a few reluctantly go down but do so while yelping! LOL

The pups have been spending their days outside (providing the weather is nice) and coming in at night. It's pretty crazy watching them come in and just going crazy. It must be too warm outside to play because they seem to save all their energy for evening!

This week with Pups

We took the pups camping with us for 3 nights. They did pretty well, got really dirty(they'll experience their first bath soon), only woke us up once at night to go to the bathroom but then had to eat and play for a bit.
A couple of them did great with the traveling and change of environment and a couple of them didn't do so well. We didn't have any accidents in the vehicle and they were quiet when we were moving. No one puked at all but there was other evidence of upsets stomachs! Pictures of the dirty pups to come!

So Cute! I found the girls huddled up like this

All 6 with mom

July 13th, I can't believe that they all used to fit in the small wicker basket!

Glacier

Here's Glacier at 5 1/2 weeks. He's the most playful, has the sharpest teeth (at least maybe uses them the most) has shorter hair and is really happy-go-lucky! Tayler says that he looks like the pup from the toilet paper commercial.

Mystic

This is Mystic at 5 1/2 weeks. She has the most people personality! She's very attentive, loves to play with our kids, us, and the other pups. When we come downstairs, she's the first one to be watching and paying attention. When the other pups are yelping or making noise, she's the first one to be checking it out!

Tundra

Tundra is the biggest female, at 5 1/2 weeks, she is the same size as our males and has held comparable with them from the beginning. I think she is going to be the most dominant because when she is placed in the submissive position, it takes her a bit to calm down like it did for her mom. Her mom (Bella) is very good with people because we worked with her when she thought that she was the boss. However, Bella only gets along with our less dominant males. Tundra gets nervous when being held, but loves attention when she's on all 4's.

Avalanche

This is our Avalanche, he's going to stay with us. He's the most mellow of the litter, most laid back of the litter and is kind of in his own little world.....all the pups are awesome, if we could, we'd keep all of them, but Avalanche is gonna be an awesome house dog! He's really really fluffy!

River

This is River at 5 1/2 weeks old. We think she is maybe going to be one of the dominant females, but she still loves attention from her siblings and us. Now that I think about it, she is the only one that woke up fully tonight for cuddles and play time while the rest tried to sleep.

Storm

This is Storm. She is the most mellow of the girls. She's 5 1/2 weeks old here, trying to sleep after a long afternoon of being outside playing with Bella (Dam). She really loves to be held and will usually choose to come get cuddles than play with the other pups.

Details on pups

The pups were born on July 13th, 2010. We have both parents on site. Pups have been raised inside with time spent outside daily now that they're a bit older. Each pup gets individual time each day. We have 5 kids that love to play with the pups, so besides the sharp puppy teeth, they're very kid friendly. We have 2 kittens that have interacted with the pups. Although Malamutes generally don't get along with rodents or other small animals, we're hoping that they will continue to.
They've been trained on the puppy pads and are just starting to get more time outside. They are around 10 pounds at 5 weeks (give or take a pound depending on pup). They're on Eagle Pack Puppy food that they have available to them freely.
They will have their first shots and worming started when they go to their new homes. I will post more details and pictures over time. Thanks for looking!
